The Little Campbell River in South Surrey is listed as BC’s 12th most endangered waterway. A Rocha Canada is conducting a species-at-risk survey and undertaking restoration projects along 30002m of the river to improve wildlife and watershed habitats. Five species of salmon spawn in the river, and an extirpated fish, the Salish Sucker, not seen in the watershed for over 30 years, was documented in late August by one of A Rocha’s student interns involved in the project. This discovery will help to raise public awareness of about the local ecosystem.
