Relevant, Hands-on Learning!
We provide 2 hour programs for public and private schools. These are based on the BC Ministry of Education learning outcomes for Science and other subject areas. We will suggest pre-and post-visit learning activities.
We also provide program outlines after you book a date. Our maximum class size is 30 students.
Primary Programs
KINDERGARTEN | FEELS FANTASTIC!
Use your five senses to learn about the world around you. Discover our ponds, forest and meadow.
GRADE 1 | SURVIVAL!
Explore the habitats of plants and animals: What’s the secret of life?
GRADE 2 | CREATURE FEATURES!
Get to know some of the many living things in our local neighbourhood. Explore what makes each one unique, and how they relate to each other!

Take a close-up look at the power in plants. See why we cannot live without them!
Intermediate Programs
GRADE 4 | WHO’S YOUR NEIGHBOUR?
Get to know ‘who’ lives in the forest, pond and meadow. Find out who eats whom!
GRADE 5 | SALMON LIFE!
Follow the adventures of a salmon from its birth to its return home. See why it is one of BC’s most famous resources!

BOOKING & FEES
Email canada.kids@arocha.ca to book your students’ visit to the A Rocha Brooksdale Environmental Centre in Surrey: from March to mid-June, or from mid-September to November.
$7 / student. No charge for teachers or parents.
BRING YOUR BOOTS & HAVE FUN!
All centre-based programs occur outdoors and are conducted rain or shine. Please come prepared with suitable rainwear and rubber boots.
Parent drivers and helpers are encouraged to participate in activities and to help supervise students.
